Regional Infrasound Workshop & Integrated Training
Workshop Objectives
The Regional Infrasound Workshop aims to:
- Build up national and regional capacities in implementing the Treaty and participating in the verification regime.
- Promote the civil and scientific application of verification technologies, emphasizing infrasound technology.
- Facilitate the exchange of experience and expertise in Infrasound technology among the National Data Centres (NDCs) in the SEAPFE region.
- Strengthen participants’ knowledge of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the work of the Preparatory Commission.
Infrasound Integrated Training Objectives
The Integrated Training aims to:
- Understand and learn how Infrasound data can support the verification regime and its civil and scientific applications.
- Learn to use the Infrasound tools in the NDC in a Box (NiaB) package for processing data collected from a portable array experiment.
- Stimulate regional cooperation in Infrasound data analysis through the NDCs.

Financial Information
Applicable to PTS-funded participants only:
In accordance with the staff regulations and rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide to the candidates a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and financial support to cover the travel costs for the workshop.
- The DSA will be sufficient to cover related expenses during the workshop and training program.
- The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue, and send the tickets to the participants for the most direct and economic route.
- Participants may, under exceptional circumstances, be authorized to purchase their ticket locally, but only if this proves to be most cost efficient for the PTS and has been authorized by the PTS in advance.
- Health insurance will be provided for the duration of the Workshop and Training.
Requirement: Scanned passport copies.
- Registration: To qualify for funding, participants must submit an abstract related to the objectives of the Workshop. Failing to meet these requirements will disqualify them from being considered for funding.
- Poster Presentations: Accepted participants will be included in the agenda for a 10-minute presentation.
- Poster Size: A1 (59.4cm x 84.1cm).
