Objectives:

Training Objective

To enhance and develop station operators’ knowledge and skills regarding the operational and maintenance aspects of radionuclide stations using the Cinderella.G2 system.

I. Introduction and General Concept of the Cinderella System and IMS Operational Requirements

II. Routine Operations and Reporting

  • Identification of automatic messages and alerts
  • Filters handling (verification of automatic processes)
  • Access to pulse height data and state of health (SOH) data
  • Equipment regular checks and safety requirements
  • Reporting

III. Other Operations

  • Detector calibration
  • Background measurements and blank filter measurements
  • Scheduled equipment maintenance
  • Recording and reporting of data availability and downtime, data backup procedures
  • Spectral data re-submission, shipment of archive and QA/QC samples

IV. Unscheduled Operations and Station Management Procedures

  • Equipment failures troubleshooting
  • Communication with the PTS using the IMS Reporting System (IRS)
  • Application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Data authentication
  • Configuration management

Financial Information

In accordance with the staff regulations and rules and Administrative Directives, the PTS will provide a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) and financial support to cover travel costs.

•A DSA that is sufficient to cover related expenses during the training programme;
•The PTS travel agent will reserve, issue and send the flight tickets to the participants for the most direct and economic route;
•Funded participants are not allowed to purchase their own tickets unless, under exceptional circumstances, be authorized to do so and only if this proves to be the most cost effective option for the PTS;
•The PTS will book a hotel and participants will receive their DSA upon arrival in Reykjavik; and
•Health insurance will be provided that covers the duration of the training.

•Participants should apply for visas, if needed, at the corresponding consular office upon receipt of an Acceptance Note Verbale from the PTS, in order to ensure timely processing.
•The training program is open only for Station Operators from invited countries.
